Fractional CO2 laser (Smartskin)
This laser is the more aggressive laser for skin tightening with a small downtime associated with it.
The laser ablates the top layer of the skin (epidermis) down to the middle part of the dermis. This allows for some initial tissue tightening, but more importantly, will stimulate the skin to produce collagen and create additional tightening which can be observed after 6 weeks. It also targets the pigmentation and other textural irregularities of the skin.
This is a good laser to have done when you have a weekend to recover.
Typically one treatment is needed, but for patients with acne scarring or deep wrinkles, a second treatment can be performed after 3 months.
